Mona Rith

Mona Rith’s work aims to figure out the character of a material whilst in dialogue with technique. She attempts to work with the effect and consequence of cooperation with her  material. Process as a formative part of the aesthetics. The allure of structure and decomposition.

An interesting and intense part of the working process is the fact that every single element of a completed art work has been touched by its creator. As a result, there is a very close relationship between artist and material.

Mona Rith was born in Graz, Austria. For ten years she worked on international movie projects in the costume department. After professional stays in Berlin, London and Luxembourg she decided to study at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. She earned her bachelor's degree in 2020 and a master's degree in 2021.
